A Letter to our fans -

Los Angeles, CA January 31st 2000 --
Chalk FarM calls it a day.

After many months (OK, the last couple of years) of wrestling with the fact that the music industry at this time does not have any real idea what it actually wants as far as a rock band goes, we've decided it would be a good time to end the band as it was, acknowledge it for the great music we made, and each pursue our individual musical paths and interests.

The December show at 14 Below in Santa Monica was the final Chalk FarM show.

As we are now sitting on 50 or so 'new' songs, we thought it would be silly to waste them, especially considering the number of requests we still get for new music - and the fact that we have been saying for some time that we would do it.

So, we are making available Chalk FarM's final CD.

The price of the CDs is $15.00 each and will include shipping and handling. If you want one autographed, they will be $20.00 each (instead of $15.00). Please send a check or money order to Chalk FarM CD c/o New Era Business Management; 5903 Fallbrook Ave. Woodland Hills, CA 91367.

You can hear some of the new songs by clicking here.

Updates:

Orlando has been playing with one of our dear friends, Debby Holiday, who will be putting out a CD for Warner/Giant Records sometime this year. He is also in another funk-blues project called Big Brother Down, check the LA Weekly for that..

Trace has been playing with Dreamworks artist Kina, her record is scheduled to come out in May. They are doing mini tours around the country as you read so keep an eye and ear out for them.

Rob has been playing a lot of different projects lately and not only on drums! Look for him on CDs, TV and in clubs everywhere!

Michael has been writing with and for a bunch of people while working on (more) new material for his solo project. He also has done a CD with a band he formed called Guinea Pig. Click here for more on that. He has occasionally been playing acoustic and singing back-up for Mark Seliger (Rolling Stone Magazine's main photographer - who writes some really cool country songs). It's been a blast - with Lenny Kravitz, Sheryl Crow and Kenny Wayne Shepperd having sat in! Michael will be playing dates in L.A. on his own in April and is planning some smaller shows in select locations throughout the rest of the U.S. this Summer.

We have really enjoyed all the love and support shown by our fans over the past few years and we each hope to be able to play for you all in some fashion over the next few.

You all Rock!!!!!!!!

Peace,
